Three Subsurface Aerator Models to Choose From
Each TORNADO aerator can be configured to be either shore mounted. Shore-mounted options can be either self-aspirating or blower-assisted.
- The TORNADO self-aspirating aerator aerates on its own by drawing air from the surface and injecting it beneath the surface of the pond or lake. It’s available in sizes from 2 to 100 horsepower (1.5 to 75 kW).
- The TORNADO blower-assisted aerator is used for applications requiring a higher oxygenation level. The aerator includes a blower, which forces more air down the inlet and into the wastewater, producing higher oxygen. It’s available in sizes from 2 to 100 horsepower (1.5-75 kW).
How the Tornado Subsurface Aerator Works
The TORNADO Surface Aerator draws atmospheric air through an intake valve and then disperses it into water through a diffused aeration mechanism. As the aerator operates, a propeller-like component beneath the surface creates a turbulent mixing action, distributing oxygen evenly throughout the water body. This process facilitates oxygen dissolution into the water and promotes the natural breakdown of pollutants through aerobic digestion. The TORNADO’s design minimizes energy consumption while maximizing oxygen transfer efficiency, making it an ideal solution for maintaining healthy aquatic ecosystems and effective wastewater treatment.
Extensive Aeration Applications
The TORNADO is utilized across a diverse range of applications, such as:
- Municipal wastewater treatment
