To commentate this momentous occasion, newterra opened its doors to both the community and friends and family of newterra employees to showcase the manufacturing facility.
Guests were treated to guided tours of the plant, seeing first-hand each stage of the newterra manufacturing process. In a heartfelt speech, Co-Founding member Bruce Lounsbury spoke of newterra’s humble beginnings in a basement and attributed it's success to the hard work and sacrifice made by employees, both past, and present, making it the global leader in water technology that it is today. newterra CEO Thomas Vossman also attributed newterra’s continual growth to the teamwork and dedication of all newterra staff as well as a focus on new technology and growing markets.
The event was attended by all levels of government including Member of Parliament, Gord Brown, Member of Provincial Parliament, Steve Clark, and Brockville Mayor David Henderson who was quoted as saying “newterra is the poster child for success; a company that started by a handful of people in a basement, made it through all the challenges, made the product, generated the capital, and went on to build, build, build. Now 25 years later, look at the size of the facility and the technology that it offers. This is our future - this type of company, this type of risk. The staff and management have made it through 2 recessions that crippled many companies and are back on the upswing again.”
With a strong focus on various new water treatment technologies, the next 25 years for newterra are promising to be exciting as the last 25.
