150+ Years of Continued Innovation

COCHRANE is a direct descendant of Harrison Safety Boiler Works, which was founded in July 1863 by Joseph Harrison Jr., a mechanical engineer who played a prominent role in the design, construction and safety improvements of America's first steam locomotives.

From this legacy, the company has been responsible for developing many firsts in industrial water treatment – including the crossflow deaerator. More recently, COCHRANE's engineering expertise was applied to spray valves – the most critical component of deaerators. The result was the highly precise AccuSpray® nozzle and the Lock'N'Load nozzle that allows fast inspections and changeouts.

In 2014, COCHRANE became part of Newterra, a world leader in modular water treatment solutions, through its acquisition of the business of Crane Water from diversified industrial manufacturer, Crane Co. The COCHRANE legacy continues to be a driving force at Newterra in our commitment to serving the Industrial water treatment market.
